    The restaurant's name is read "Azumaya". It's normally read "toncha", a term for the east player or dealer in mah jongg.

    Naturally, I wrote we were all excited, but in the Yuyu-sama style, you mustn't skip breakfast either! :-)

    For tracking the soba you've eaten, there's a course where you count the bowls you stack up and a course where you count marbles. The marble-counting course is cheaper, but stacking up bowls is exactly what you think of wanko soba being, after all, so I went with the more expensive option!

    (I believe the actual amount per bowl is relatively small, but it does build up after a while. Without seeing exact serving sizes, though, I couldn't even guess.)

    If the servings are really that small, it really does remind me of the 3-baht noodle shop in my town. They have about 50 grams of noodle per bowl, so you'd have to eat about 4 bowls to match a regular sized bowl of noodle. Even then, it's still cheaper than eating a regular-sized bowl. (3 baht is about 10 US cents, not accounting for exchange rate fluctuation.)

    Going by that assumption, a typical meal should run you around 10 bowls. I think I can pack about 50 bowls if I really try...

    to what i know, they're bite sized, about the same as a small bowl, as i remember seeing someone having the same thing on TV a while back.
