In Japanese, the English "kiss" written in Katakana (キッス) is the most common word to describe kissing. The native Japanese word, seppun (接吻), is almost never used except in formal situations.

Basically, Daiyousei uses "seppun" instead of "kiss" because it sounds less lewd.

I tried to find a scientific sounding synonymy for "kiss" and all I got was "osculation".

If anyone can think of a better way to put this then please feel free to change it.
