Well, the more untouchable and strong willed a character is the more abuse and rape pics of them show up. It's not because the artist has no heart, but because pics depicting physical or psychological dominance over them help to shorten the "distance" between the Average Joe to said character. You can't blame the more shallow-minded people for holding onto this little crutch in order to be closer to their favourite characters even if it's a very clumsy way to do so.
This picture would be an example for physical dominance. A good example for psychological dominance would be what the few "Bawww, XXX is not a lesbian!!"-people are doing. The distance between the Touhou girls who are almost always depicted as lesbians and the Average Joe is huge, but by assuming that they somehow could show romantic interest in males they shorten this distance through psychological dominance, also known as romantic feelings or love towards a person.
Oh man, not this quasi-psychological crap again. Yeah, the picture offends you, that's really nice to know, but stop trying to rationalize it if you're uncapable of doing it correctly. And stop acting like everyone who doesn't share your view on Gensokyo is some kind of retard. If you're so familiar with all the psych stuff, you probably also know what "unwarranted sense of superiority" means.
Well, I'd rather hug Yuukarin, and help her take care of her flowers. I'm not a abusing type of guy. But yeah, not everything needs to be thought out to be something.
The problem with a little bit of knowledge on psychology is that you think you can understand why things are. Also this is the internet any serious attempt at finding out why someone did anything in the psychological sense will be met with failure because of all the factors that go into the average internet post
If there was one thing I have learned is that generalized models for human behavior are useful in some ways but can't be used to say, definitely, x was done for y reason without a lot of research into it. And even if you create a model you can't look at the end result and determine from that what makes people think. The purpose of the ink blot test, for example, wasn't what images you saw but the reasons you gave for seeing them or what emotions that may trigger and so on. I don't think Rorschach tests have been used for awhile, though.
If I had to make a pseudo-psychological rant about this I would shorten it too, "Seeing women in physical duress and with a pleading look triggers a primal urge for protection" or something. Or maybe this guy is some type of deviant who likes abused women."
I like how people commonly misuse the vote feature on abuse/violence posts. Even the most well drawn image of the site would surely happen to have a negative score if it was violence. (And no, I don't like this topic either. But downvoting stuff you reject only makes it easier to be found using order:score_asc.)

Reminds me of something I heard in Scrubs once. "...if you hear hoof-beats, you just go ahead and think horsies -- not zebras. Mm'kay, Mr. Silly Bear?"
