I'd say a real problem is that it's essentially a picture version of a military curbstomp story that eventually gets boring because all it's there to do is just show puny the medieval side is against the modern military side. Also frankly the author should never write anything involving politics because that portion was laughable. But then the author of the LNs is an ultra-nationalist, probably a member of one of the uyoku dantai.

To each their own.

It is a one sided military battle, but it has things that many, many other manga lack such as likable characters, people who don't act like fricken morons but act realistically, culture shock at its best, etc.

In short, it has the same sort of appeal that "The Salvation War" (where bronze-age tech demons roll up against the modern human military, with predictable results) has.

Bunny- and Cat-girl are called Delia/Derila/Delilah and Meia, no idea about last names.

I just read ch.38, and that Itami-Tuka arm hug has now taken on a different meaning altogether...
