I know this feeling all too well; every time I go on a trip and eat well, I come back to my budget meals, which aren't anywhere near as nice. It's okay, Kogasa-san, you just have to retrain yourself. Don't fall into The Organization's trap!

The buffet had a rather small selection of items, so it's definitely not that my palate's become refined! The Yuyu-sama person was grinning for all they were worth, but that's absolutely wronnnng! :-)

Seconded that. But it's ok. With the right preparation, even low class food can be quite delicious.

Nope. This doesn't actually work that way. Once you've been bumped up to a higher bracket, the lower tier becomes crap. And more of it is just more crap... it's better to just pass altogether. You can only trade quantity for quality when you're still in the lower bracket.

I've had all kinds of upper middle-tier foods (by American Standards) due to some (former) business relations of mine, but I prefer Instant Ramen with all the fixins ('poor man's soup', as Hayao Miyazaki calls it) as long as there's enough of it... does that make me weird?

It doesn't work that way either. Different foods fall into different brackets. So unless that was "all kinds of upper middle-tier" ramens, your ramen bracket will be largely unaffected by the exposure.
