I never did get the last few panels to this: did she fantasize about drawing Sayaka, then bashfully decided against it?

Regardless, I love these, and would also love SoL segments that included Goddoka and Sayaka. It helps lessen the tragedy of the original.

more like she was contemplating the nature of her drawings and the contrast of such a fantasy against the reality of of things. When she sees sayaka with her soul gem completely darkened, she puts away her selfish thought of a beautiful fantasy, hardens her resolve and continues to do what she set out to do: save magical girls.

Okay, that makes more sense. I actually hadn't noticed the cloudy Soul Gem before.

Also, " 'reasts' ". Heh.

There are a few more cute/touching strips like this, including one where Goddoka and Sayaka celebrate Christmas, and another where Sayaka tries (and fails) to put on a brave face as they watch Hitomi and Kyousuke go on a date.

Again, they're cute little strips that I'd love to see used in an official capacity.
