Hopefully, if a river otter youkai does get made, it won't look anything like this...

The otter in that picture seems to have a more canine/weasel-like jaw than most, but then, maybe it's just the thing in its mouth blocking the view.

It's always funny how Japan always loves putting up the heroes as coming from farming and pastoral backgrounds, while the evil empires are always fully mechanized factory cities, but at the same time, they have such a bad environmental track record, themselves...

I'd imagine it's because of that, not despite it.
