    May just be their take on it, but the lack of lower arm actuators REALLY grates on me.

    Looks more like the MkII than the original.

    I can see where you are coming from, if only cause I really enjoyed the Mechwarrior games. And from playing those games I tend to like the rugged and rough looking western mech designs a lot more than the very flashy (and very humanoid even when it interferes with functionality) eastern ones.

    This image looks like an Eastern take on a Western mech, and that is pretty interesting from a design standpoint, so I like it for that.

    Ironic... Many of the first designs for Battletech and Mechwarrior were based on Miyatake Kazutaka's (Destroids) and Kawamori Shouji's (Glaug) designs for Macross.

    While not an exact match, this design closely resembles the "Dark Age Timber Wolf", Mad Cat mk.IV, also known as Savage Wolf.
