Anyway, naturally, since I'd skipped out on Sanae to go to the U.S., for a trip just to Sendai, I wanted us to go together. Actually, the travel cost increase was unexpectedly small.

("Hagi no Tsuki" literally means "bush clover moon", but as bush clover blossoms are a sign of autumn, it's more like "autumn/harvest moon".)

What's with all this "Die in an explosion" stuff lately? Those Haruhi comics have Kyon saying it to Koizumi a lot, so I thought it was just his thing, but apparently, it's a meme now?

It's a standard 2ch response meme to people who have a satisfactory real life, known as リア充 (Ria-juu) a.k.a. RL'ers, real-lifers or realfags. It expresses jealousy (real or faked).

I know how Kogasa-san feels; I think about the food at the places I go as much as the actual reason, too. (Anyone who thinks otherwise didn't the see the Eagle's Deli strips.) Poor Kogasa-san, so worried about having food and Sanae-san, even though it's a contradiction. Hopefully Sanae-san won't force Kogasa-san to cut back too much!

For the poll, I'd love to try some sea urchin. Let's go to sendai and have some sea urchin.

I didn't know there was enough meat on a sea urchin to eat.

Nowadays the term ria-juu is used mainly to refer to (happy) couples, especially on Nico Nico. This may represent a narrowing of the original meaning of the term.
