「月が綺麗ね」

彼女は言った。
本人にそんなつもりは無かったのだろうけど、
私はついその言葉を深読みしてしまって、上ずった声で
「はい」と答えてしまった。
きょとんとした鈴仙の顔で、私がとんでもない勘違いを
していたことに気付く。途端顔が赤く染まる。
「妖夢ったら、変な子ねえ」
楽しそうにけたけた笑う彼女は、浮かぶ月なんて
比べものにならないくらい綺麗だった。

多分、これが恋なのかなって、思った。

"The Moon sure is pretty,"

...she said. She herself might not have intended it, but I just had to read too much into those words. "Yes," I responded in a shrill, nervous voice.

From Reisen's puzzled stare, I realized I'd made an unthinkable mistake. My face went red at that instant.

"You sure are a strange girl, Youmu," she said, beaming and laughing, so lovely that even the moon floating above couldn't compare. I wondered if maybe this could be love.
