How much bird in bird girl?

After a resent incident the question of how many bird attributes are required for the bird girl tag was raised. This ofcourse leads in to the question of how we tag other animal girls and if there is someone that wants to maintain a "threshold" by constantly cleaning the tags.

But regarding bird_girl, should wing shaped hair be enough as in post #4609994? Are Ptilopsis owl ears enough such as in post #3911731? A more impressive feather hair as in post #4465348? Or do we require bird tail and feather_hair such as in post #4604353.

And ofcourse the line between bird_girl and harpy is somewhat fuzzy. post #646639

The animal_person tags in general have very suspect and questionable use. I can't speak on it too much as I'm honestly not sure where a line can be drawn when any line will result in a large swath of the tag, as well as related _ear and _tail tags, to be filled with painful mistagging.

Though on the statement of animal_girl and monster_girl, we've always kept them mutually exclusive. No tagging horse girl on a centaur. For harpies specifically, I've been keeping track of them as "obvious wings + additional major birb features, usually claws/talons". This prunes characters like harpy_(puyopuyo) from being tagged harpy, but it's also notable that nobody has ever tried to tag her bird_girl, either. Your example image could go either way as it is a stretch to call those wings.

We talked about it in topic #18856, about how an Owl Girl could be either a Bird Girl or a Harpy, and therefore shouldn't imply any of them.

i've always been confused why Mystia Lorelei isn't tagged bird girl, since she has the bird ears and bird wings and is shown doing bird things

Probably similar to why Kirisame Marisa isn't regularly tagged witch.
