Please see topic #14795.
The straight shota tag was deemed superficial and got moved to shota hetero, so we don't need implications as the tag is supposed to not be used.

It's an alias that's requested.
I'd say +1 s it doesn'T get re-populated and the tag was fairly popular...

Ah, I read it wrong.
But I'm not sure an alias is a good way to go about it, because rather than being able to move eventual mistags to shota + hetero, we'd end up with people tagging shota but not hetero when trying to use this tag with this alias set up.

This is exactly right. If uploaders are tagging straight_shota when what they really mean is hetero shota, an alias only masks the problem and makes it harder for us to ensure that hetero is being used properly. That tag already gets neglected far too often.
