Japanese professional baseball team, based in Tokyo and playing in the Central League of Nippon Professional Baseball. The Giants are the most popular and successful team in NPB, having won 30 Japanese baseball championships (the most of any NPB team) and receiving massive support through out Japan. These factors often draw comparisons of the Giants to the New York Yankees of Major League Baseball.
