Nintendo's sixth home video game console, successor to the Wii. Its main controller is the Wii U Gamepad.
It competed with Sony's PlayStation 4 and Microsoft's Xbox One as part of the eighth generation of video game consoles.
The console was considered a failure for numerous reasons and had a short lifespan. It was succeeded by the much more well-managed Nintendo Switch.
