wang wei (pla pilot)
A pilot of the People's Liberation Army Air Force. On April 1, 2001, he was sent to intercept a Lockheed EP-3 signals intelligence aircraft in his Shenyang J-8 (No. 81192 or 81194) alongside another pilot over Hainan. After making two close passes by the EP-3, he collided with it the third time, breaking his aircraft in two and possibly killing him.
