vf-171

Variable fighter mecha that appeared in the Macross Frontier TV series from 2008. It also appears in the later Macross Delta TV series from 2016.

The VF-171 Nightmare Plus is the main New U.N. Spacy (N.U.N.S.) variable fighter during the events of Macross Frontier (2059). It is similar to the VF-17 Nightmare from Macross 7, but has a more advanced airframe and is easier to pilot and produce. It can be upgraded into the VF-171 EX version, which was created to fight the Vajra.

The VF-171 was designed in real life by Kawamori Shouji.
