vanity case

A type of square (or occasionally rounded) bag used to hold cosmetics, featuring a flat top with a short handle, and fastened with a zipper around the perimeter.

As the name implies, it is meant to be kept on top of a vanity table. Some feature a chain so that they can be used as a handbag.
