uss montana (bb-67)
Lead ship of the planned but never built Montana class battleship. A reversion of the traditional US battleship design (relatively slow, heavy armaments and armor). Wider than the maximum of the Panama canal locks, in which larger locks were also in the plans. Both the ships and the new locks were cancelled mid war due to changing priorities in allocations of steel supplies.
