u-96 (azur lane)

Azur Lane's personification of the German submarine U-96. Character designed by Kinjo Kuromomo.

Known as the submarine featured in the book Das Boot, later adapted in 1981 into a Wolfgang Petersen film. Both are taken from war journalist Lothar Günther-Buchheim's personal experiences from when he was assigned to U-96 in autumn 1941.
