trading card

A card with a picture or design printed on it, designed to be collected and traded as part of a collectible card game.

Trading cards were traditionally associated with sports such as baseball and soccer. Since the release of Magic: The Gathering in the 1990s, cards designed specifically for playing games became popular enough that a new category of collectible card games emerged. These have since supplanted the traditional trading card market.

This tag applies to both trading cards present inside the image, and images of the trading cards themselves.
