thanatos (mythology)

In Greek mythology, Thanatos is the god of death and mortality.

One of the original twelve titan gods, Thanatos is among the most powerful god in the mythology due to his ability to turn any god into a mere mortal. Due to this, Thanatos were one of the few titans who were left untouched by the revolt of Zeus and his siblings against Cronus. After Zeus came to power, he became an aide of Hades and has given a role to end the life of any mortal beings when their life cycle ends.
