A very romantic, passionate and sensual style of traditional Latin American dancing originated in the Silver river region (Argentina and Uruguay).

Originated in the 1880s, it was born in the impoverished port areas of the Silver river region from a combination of Argentine Milonga, Spanish-Cuban Habanera, and Uruguayan Candombe celebrations.
