SLS Block 1
space launch system
The Space Launch System (SLS) is the launch vehicle used by NASA for the Artemis Program.
It is a single-use rocket designed to carry the four-person Orion spacecraft spacecraft to the Moon. With a payload capacity of 95 metric tons to low-Earth orbit (LEO) and 27 tons to trans-lunar injection (TLI), it is the most powerful operational rocket (albeit still less than the Apollo-era Saturn V).
