(literally 'spirit horse')
Vegetables with wooden legs attached which are associated with the Bon festival of the dead. Most commonly cucumbers and eggplants. Cucumbers are fashioned into "horses" that carry the ancestors from the afterlife quickly, while eggplants are fashioned into "cows" that provide them a slow and gentle ride back.
