shikigami

Originally from Onmyoudo mysticism, a deity represented by a small ghost. In the context of modern storytelling, they're usually portrayed as summoned shape-shifters originating from parchment, sometimes in the shape of a small paper doll or talisman resembling a rudimentary human figure.
