sentinel (x-men)

An X-Men type of villain that is well known for its appearance in the Marvel vs. Capcom series.

In the Marvel universe the Sentinel is a type of giant humanoid sentient robot or mecha designed for hunting down super-powered mutants.

They are very powerful and have energy weapons built on their hands as well as telescopic robotic tentacles designed to capture their prey. The Sentinels are usually deployed in vast numbers.

There is a meme involving Sentinel's orange and blue palette in Marvel vs. Capcom 3 called "Mango Sentinel", due to how its armor resembles the color of mango flesh.
