Antagonist/rival character in Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. Also known as Jetstream Sam, he is a Brazilian-Japanese mercenary with a samurai family ancestry, with a penchant for iaido and a seemingly carefree personality.

He was forced to work with Senator Armstrong after being overpowered in a short battle between them. Disgusted with Armstrong's Social Darwinism ideology, he later secretly turns against him. After that, he duelled with Raiden to the death to solve their differences and to prove that Raiden is capable of defeating Armstrong using his high-quality blade, even knowing that his human body is no match to Raiden's cybernetic body.

His image song / boss theme is "The Only Thing I Know For Real".

He is voiced by Philip Anthony-Rodriguez in North America, and by Hirata Hiroaki in Japan.
