popeye the sailor

The titular character of the Popeye series. He is a sailor who is almost always seen with a corncob pipe in his mouth.

He is frequently harassed by his taller arch-enemy Bluto, who is normally stronger than him. However, whenever he eats spinach, he gains superhuman strength and is capable of defeating Bluto and other adversaries with ease.
