pinata

Written in Spanish as piñata, it is a hollow container made out of papier-mâché, pottery or cloth, then filled with candy and/or small toys. Then a participant will be blindfolded and given a stick, and they have to bash the piñata open. They're used as an activity for parties and celebrations.
