In the early days of interstellar exploration, the unified human species is able to ward off another existential threat in the form of a virus attacking the natural ability to procreate. The treatment, derived from alien creatures introduces alien characteristics to the human genetic structure, among them a greatly prolonged lifespan and the ability for sexual reproduction across species boundaries.

This is the dawn of a golden age for Earth. Encouraged by overcoming adversity, humankind optimistically ventures into space. It is aided by the scientists of the Pasiphae Institute who are tasked to find ways to utilize the species new abilities in its advantage to secure its position and safety in an unknown universe.
