The eighth generation of the Nissan Skyline, produced from 1989 to 1993.

The R32 was the third Skyline to have a GT-R variant, reviving the badge 16 years after the C110 GT-R's discontinuation. Designed for Group A racing in particular, the GT-R version debuted shortly after the base model and was sold for another year after the base R32 had been phased out.

This generation of the Skyline is notable for several appearances in racing anime and games. Several R32s were featured in Initial D, where they are driven by Nakazato Takeshi, Shimamura Eikichi, and Houjou Rin. In Wangan Midnight R32s are driven by Akikawa Reina, Hiramoto Kouichi, and Tomoya.
