monster hunter frontier

モンスターハンターフロンティア MHF

A now-defunct Monster Hunter MMO spin-off.

Originally built on top of Monster Hunter 2 engine, the game went on its own direction, separate from the main series. As a result, the game eventually developed its own over-the-top monster designs for both new monsters and variants of existing ones.

The game also seemingly have established its own canon, as no mainline games have mentioned elements unique to Frontier except a few monsters.

Monsters originated in Frontier

Only monsters denoted with bold has official English names, gained outside of Frontier, such as mainline games or TEPPEN.
Those who are denoted with italic have had romanized name in official Japanese materials, but not confirmed as localized name.
