monkey grip

A distinctive and uncommon space cut out in the upper body of an electric guitar. The space creates a handy carrying grip and is formed to fit comfortably within the curved fingers of the player's fist. Usually restricted to certain models of Ibanez electric guitars, e.g. GEM.
