Origin
momo (creepypasta)
Momo is a nickname given to a sculpture of a nude woman with long straight black hair, wide black eyes, a wide open smile, and bird legs, made out of natural rubber and paint oils, titled "Mother Bird," sculpted by Japanese artist, Aiso Keisuke in 2016. Based on the Japanese urban legend, Ubume, where a woman who had died during childbirth would remerge as a haunted bird woman.
Momo became an internet hoax and creepypasta, creating the "Momo Challenge," similar to the infamous "Blue Whale Challenge" in 2018, causing worldwide moral panic.
The sculpture was thrown away after its materials had decomposed in 2018, confirmed by the artist in 2019.
