Manga serialized in Shounen Sunday based on the novel of Isaka Koutarou (伊坂 幸太郎). Its author and illustrator is Oosuga Megumi (大須賀 めぐみ). Isaka Koutarou has a novel named "Grasshopper" (グラスホッパー) after the antagonistic organization depicted in the manga.
Characters
Protagonists
- The older Andou (安藤, given name unknown) - Protagonist of the first part. Resident of the fictional Nekota city (based in Kanto region) and a second-year student at Nekota East High. He didn't agree with Inukai's way to change the world and fought against his group, the Grasshopper.
- Andou Junya (安藤 潤也) - Younger brother of Andou and protagonist of the second part. Another character from the novel "Modern Times" (モダンタイムス), set in the same world in 50 years later, Andou Shoukai (安藤 商会) is his descendant.
Grasshopper (グラスホッパー Gurasuhoppā)
- Inukai Shunji (犬養 舜二) - The main antagonist of the series and the founder and leader of the Grasshopper, an influencing organization with many relations in the Japanese political world. He is the charismatic person who can manipulate many people.
- Master (マスター) - The master of cafe Duce (ドゥーチェ).
- Tatsumi Masachika (辰美 将至) - A politian who allies with the Grasshopper and later becomes the Mayor of Nekota city.
- Suzumebachi - See Assassins reference.
- Nakamura Tarou (中村 太郎) - The former leader of his gang "Cat" (キャット). Later joins Grasshopper after receiving the beating and manipulating by Inukai and his men.
- Kaname (要) - A boy who is the classmate of the older Andou. He was a bully victim before being contacted with Inukai.
Nekota East High (猫田東高校)
- Shima (島) - Andou's friend in Nekota Highschool.
- Shiori (詩織) - Junya's girlfriend. She later appears in the novel "Modern Times" (モダンタイムス) by Isaka Koutarou, set in 50 years later of Maou Juvenile Remix, and visited by the novel protagonist Watanabe (渡辺).
- Machiko (満智子) - A beautiful girl who is a third-year student and president of Nekota High's Newspaper club in which the Andou brothers are members.
- Anderson Jr. (アンダーソンJr., given name unknown) - An half-American half-Japanese student who later attends the same class with the older Andou. Due to Inukai's influences, Nekota residents' rage for the Anderson Group (a company managed by his father) intensely increase which make Anderson's classmates and other students behave violently towards the younger Anderson.

- Hirata (平田) - President of Nekota High's Newspaper Club, though the main authority falls into Machiko's hands.
- Karasumi (唐墨) - A bully.
- Mitsuyo (蜜代) - Shiori's friend.
- Mitsuyo's boyfriend (蜜代の彼氏) - Beardy boyfriend of Mitsuyo.
Assassins
- Semi (蝉, "Cicada") - An assassin first sent to kill the older Andou, but spared him instead because of his assassination contract being cancelled. A character from the novel "Grasshopper" (グラスホッパー) by Isaka Koutarou.
- Iwanishi (岩西) - The boss of Semi. A character from the novel "Grasshopper" by Isaka Koutarou.
- Kujira (鯨, "Whale") - A character from the novel "Grasshopper "by Isaka Koutarou.
- Suzumebachi (スズメバチ, "Hornet") - An assassin hired by Mr. Anderson to kill a great number of members of Grasshopper. A character from the novel "Grasshopper" by Isaka Koutarou, her young days are depicted in the spin-off Waltz.
- Two killers hired by Anderson to kill the former mayor before Tatsumi.
- Asagao (槿) - A character from the novel Grasshopper and its sequel Maria-Beatle (マリアビートル) by Isaka Koutarou.
- Two snipers, formerly part of the army, hired by Fraulein to snipe Inukai.

- Momo (桃) - The informer doing business with Iwanishi and Semi. A character from the novel "Grasshopper" by Isaka Koutarou.
- Man in black - The formerly intended "Maou" of the series, but later changed to Andou Junya. Believed to appear in another novel by Isaka Koutarou "Accuracy of Death" (死神の精度).

- Kentarou (健太郎) and Koujirou (孝次郎) - The twin brothers who can use ESP since their young age. Characters from the novel "Grasshopper" by Isaka Koutarou.
- Wife of Asagao (槿の妻) - Wife of Asagao and mother of the twins. A character from the novel "Grasshopper" by Isaka Koutarou.
Fraulein (フロイライン Furoirain)

- Terahara (寺原, given name unknown) - President of Fraulein. A character from the novel "Grasshopper" by Isaka Koutarou.
- Terahara Junior (寺原ジュニア, given name unknown) - Son of the president of Fraulein. A character from the novel "Grasshopper" by Isaka Koutarou.
- Hiyoko (比与子) - A character from the novel "Grasshopper" by Isaka Koutarou.
- Three of Fraulein employees were killed by Semi. Other of them can be found in the novel "Modern Times" by Isaka Koutarou.
- Four of the officials hired by Terahara Jr. to "hunt" four of Junya's friends: Machiko, Mitsuyo, Mitsuyo's boyfriend, and Shiori. Later, they were killed by Semi.
Authorities of Nekota city
- Nekota Police Detective (刑事) - The detective with the moustache who seems to be in odd with Inukai and does not agree with his actions.
- Mayor (市長) - The fat cowardly former mayor of Nekota city. He later is confronted with Kujira, and despite Semi's protection, he is hypnotized to suicide by jumping off his room's balcony.
- Mr. Anderson (Mr.アンダーソン, given name unknown) - An American influencing businessman and president of the Anderson Group who wants to make his project building the "New City" in Nekota city.
- Yamamoto Miyuki (山本 みゆき) - A man of the Nekota city council. Hypnotized to suicide by Kujira.
