Marvel comics superhero originally known as Power Man.

After being forced through super soldier experimentation known as the Burstein Process, Luke Cage gained superhuman strength and nigh-invulnerability. His body is completely bulletproof, able to tank gunfire at point blank range.

His creators were inspired by Blaxploitation cinema the Black Power movement in the 1970s His original name (Power Man) is a homage to the phrase "Black Power".
