laser sight
A device attached or integral to a weapon to aid target acquisition. It projects a colored beam onto the target.
If the laser beam projected by it or dot on the target is visible, use the tag laser pointer projection as well.
- Not to be confused with a laser pointer, a small cylindrical tool used to direct attention to one spot during meetings and lectures.
- Not to be confused with eye beam, where lasers may emanate from the eyes.
- Not to be confused with a red dot or reflex sight, where the illuminated dot is only visible on the eyepiece lens.
