Introduces the concept of a sixth ranger to the team, as well as fantasy elements in Super Sentai, diverging away from the more science-fiction oriented elements of the previous series, and serving as a blueprint for installments to come.

Also notable for being the first Super Sentai series to be adapted into Power Rangers for international audiences outside of Japan, in the form of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.
