kyojin no hoshi

Baseball-themed manga series by Ikki Kajiwara and Noboru Kawasaki; adapted into an anime TV series in 1968, which ran for 182 episodes.

It is especially famous today for the anime's 92nd episode, "A Contract Without Compromise" (折り合わぬ契約), which originally aired on 27 December 1969. A major subplot in the episode involves main character Hoshi attempting to prove his humanity by throwing a Christmas party for his friends and rivals at his own expense; when no one shows up at the party, he destroys it in a fit of rage. This frequently-parodied scene is often associated with the line 何がクリスマスじゃあい！ (Christmas, my ass!), spoken by Hoshi's trainer Ban Chuuta in the episode.
