The world's premier VTuber. She uploads a variety of videos to her YouTube channel, the A.I. Channel, in a similar format to other popular YouTubers. She's produced by activ8 under their Kizuna AI Inc. autonomous subsidiary.

Her character designer is Morikura En, while her voice actor was kept a secret (until April 24, 2020 when it was revealed that Kasuga Nozomi was her "voice model"). She made her debut with the video Creating A Twitter account! on November 29, 2016. Her 3D model is available for download from her official website.

She describes herself as a 16 year-old super intelligent A.I. that is curious about humans. As the sole resident of an endless white void, she finds human life fascinating, and wishes to use her channel to learn more about them. In a live stream celebrating a new subscriber milestone, Kizuna Ai gave her impression of her own three-sizes: 83-56-81.

On February 26, 2022, Kizuna Ai went on an indefinite hiatus following a final hello, world virtual concert. At the final live, an anime project and a CeVIO voicebank (KZN) based on her were announced. Exactly 3 years later, on February 26, 2025, she announced the resumption of her activities.

Kizuna has had an immense amount of game collabs, including an appearance as a shipgirl in Azur Lane, an unlockable Fall Guy skin in Fall Guys, and an appearance as a playable pilot in Super Mecha Champions. activ8 has also ensured she had collaborations with crypto ventures, such as Otaku Coin and Japanese metaverse/NFT project METAANI, as well as previously having talked about Bitcoin, which is met with mild controversy among anti-crypto crowds.
