Within the fandom, the event is often referred to as Mizu5, in reference to it being the fifth event featuring Akiyama Mizuki as a focus character. Became a meme, as Mizuki's shocked face in the event's featured card became a common reaction image following its posting by the Japanese Project Sekai X account teasing the event. The event story's developments, which involved Mizuki being apparently outed to Shinonome Ena as having been born a boy by two of their schoolmates, sparked significant debate within the Project Sekai fandom as to the question of Mizuki's gender identity (which remains not officially confirmed).
