kanon
A 1999 adult visual novel illustrated by Hinoue Itaru and published by Key. The story follows Aizawa Yuuichi, a high school student who returns to a city he last visited seven years prior to the game's start. He does not remember what happened in the past, but as the game progresses, he meets several girls and slowly regains his lost memories.
The first edition was released on June 6, 1999. Key later released all-ages versions of Kanon that were ported to the Dreamcast, PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable, and Nintendo Switch. Besides the multiple ports, Kanon's success resulted in its development into a highly marketed media mix project, which besides the anthologies, art books, audio dramas and several music albums, include:
