kamehameha (dragon ball)

かめはめ波

The signature attack of the Dragon Ball series, a powerful energy blast technique that was first created by Muten Roushi and then learned by Son Goku after witnessing its use once, increasing in power with him throughout the series, and later being taught to his two sons, Son Gohan and Son Goten. Parodies of the attack, and the hands-together pose assumed to use it, are quite frequent.

The move's name is translated as "turtle energy wave", and is inspired by the name of the Hawaiian monarch of the same name.

Not to be confused with the Hadouken. The Kamehameha is a beam rather than a ball.
