ish's state smp
ish's State is a series of Minecraft server experiments created by ish where a large number of players are divided into different states, each belonging to a specific biome island. It is inspired by MagicGum's Minecraft videos related to social experiments and geopolitics.
It is famous for being a roleplay-focused event with a mostly improvisational player-driven plot and a diverse set of characters, factions, alliances and wars. Livestreams, VODs, and retellings of individual perspectives can be found on Twitch and YouTube channels of ish and other participants.
As of September 27th, 2025, there have been six seasons of State, two of which following the core "four islands" model, with more expected to come in the future.
