Idia Shroud is a third-year student in Twisted Wonderland and the head of Ignihyde, as well as Ortho's "older brother." He is shy and has a dark nature, not wanting to interact with people and staying in his dorm. He usually uses a tablet pc to communicate with other people, often carried around by Ortho. He is online gaming friends with Muscle Red, though neither knows the other's true identity. His unique magic, Gate to Underworld, allows him to open and close the door to the "underworld" (a containment center full of blot phantoms) at S.T.Y.X. headquarters.

He comes from the Island of Woe, and his parents are Mr. Shroud and Mrs. Shroud. He helps maintain Ortho's body and creates new "gears" for him to utilize. When excited, his fiery hair can turn from blue to red. He is a member of the Board Games Club alongside Azul Ashengrotto.

When he was younger, he carelessly used his unique magic to open the underworld, resulting in his younger brother Ortho's death by a Phantom. In his grief, he created the robotic Ortho to try and revive him, though acknowledges as the end of Book 6 that the "soul" inside of Ortho is not the original Ortho. He tells Ortho that he no longer needs to stay by his side at that point, but Ortho decides to stay as his brother anyways and become a student at Night Raven College.
