iaidou

A school of Japanese swordsmanship that emphasizes quickly drawing one's sword and responding to sudden attacks, as well as constant awareness. It developed from iaijutsu, a quick-draw sword technique. The technique is most commonly depicted as quickly drawing, slashing, and sheathing a sword in one smooth motion.
