house sparrow
A species of sparrow found throughout much of the world, but only very rarely seen in Japan.
Male House Sparrows are similar to Eurasian Tree Sparrows (of both sexes), but House Sparrows have a gray crown and lack the Tree Sparrow's black cheek patches.
