(はんじゅくヒーロー) "Softboiled Hero"
A Japanese-only game series by Square-Enix released originally over the Wii store.
Playing vaguely like a cross between Paper Mario and Suikoden, gameplay is varied, and involves leading armies of 2d sprites against other armies, but has multiple game modes (including roguelike dungeons fought with armies that battle by smashing into one another as sprites fly away when they die in a charge) and severely oddball humor in between. There are crossovers with classic Final Fantasy games, such as summoning Final Fantasy IV characters from eggs during battle.
The main character is Lord Almamoon, who has to save his kingdom from various dangers each game.
There are four main games, and a spin-off game for the 3DS, "Egg Monster Hero".
