The G3 is a West German 7.62×51mm NATO battle rifle developed by Heckler & Koch in the 1950s, based on the earlier WWII-era prototype, the StG45, and the Spanish CETME Model 58. It became the standard Bundeswehr service rifle from 1959 until the early 1990s. Utilizing roller-delayed blowback mechanism, its design also became the basis of other H&K weapons, such as the MP5 submachine gun.

This tag includes all existing variants of the G3 rifle, such as the G3/SG1 for designated marksman purposes, the Swedish Ak 4, and more.

Examples

G3A3, with wide polymer handguard.
G3A4, with a retractable sliding stock
G3K (Kurz), with a shorter barrel.
G3SG/1, accurized variant with a bipod, a cheek pad on the buttstock, and a telescopic sight.
