The Grimace Shake is a limited edition berry flavored milkshake dessert that was originally sold at some McDonald's restaurants in the United States of America during June 2023 to celebrate Grimace's "birthday" (read: anniversary of debut). Around the time the shake debuted, social media sites such as Twitter and TikTok became populated with jokes about the drink either being toxic or leading to misfortune due to its resemblance to the recreational drug lean or "purple drank".
